My Life as a Modern Jack of All Trades

I’ve always been told by my mother that I was a multi-talented individual with a wide range of skills. Over time, I’ve learned that the world has a phrase for this kind of person: a jack of all trades, master of none.

Traditionally, people use that saying in a negative way — as if having many skills means you can’t be great at any of them. But I’ve never seen it that way. In fact, the original saying goes like this:

“Jack of all trades, master of none, but oftentimes better than master of one.”

That part at the end changes everything. It’s not about being less capable — it’s about being versatile. And for me, that versatility is where my strength lies.

My Symphony of Skills

My journey began in music. I’m not just a singer; I also play the flute, saxophone, and keyboard. As a gospel recording artist, my heart is in sharing a message of hope and faith, and my ability to blend vocals with instruments gives me a unique voice — both literally and creatively.

Crochet with a Royal Flair

Music isn’t my only outlet. I also fell in love with crochet — and it’s become a big part of my life through my brand, Knotty Yarn Creation. I create intricate designs, sell digital crochet patterns, and teach others the craft. Many of my pieces carry a “royalty” theme because I believe creativity should feel majestic and uplifting.

Venturing into Digital Entrepreneurship

My talents aren’t limited to the arts. I’m a tech-minded entrepreneur who loves blending creativity with technology. I use tools like Sqribble for eBook creation and I’m currently developing Empirely 2.0 — a next-generation marketing platform that combines AI technology with multiple tools in one. For me, innovation is just another form of art.

Teaching & Inspiring Others

One of the greatest joys of having many skills is being able to share them. I’ve taught crochet to beginners, mentored fellow entrepreneurs, and offered insights on how to merge creativity with marketing. Every time I help someone take their first step toward their own dream, I feel like my journey has more purpose.

Why I Embrace My Many Talents

Being a “jack of all trades” doesn’t mean I’m scattered or unfocused — it means I can see connections others might miss. I can move between music, fiber arts, business, and technology, weaving them together into something uniquely mine. I thrive in variety, and I believe that’s what keeps me growing.

I’m not here to fit into one box.
I’m here to create a whole shelf of them — each one filled with something I’ve learned, something I’ve built, or something I can share.

This is my life as a modern jack of all trades. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
